Strategy - Effective from April 2011 (front cover)

Under Energy Act (2004) obligations we must review and publish our Strategy at least every five years. UK Government and the Scottish Ministers approved our new Strategy in March 2011. The Strategy incorporates stakeholder views, feedback and responses to the consultation on our Draft Strategy.

Stakeholder Engagement

We have engaged extensively since the beginning of 2009 with stakeholders on developing individual strategies.

While developing our Strategy our engagement ranged from dedicated peer reviews to national engagement events. In reviewing our Strategy we have engaged with

  • nuclear regulators (ONR, Environment Agency, SEPA, DfT)
  • UK and Scottish Government
  • Welsh Assembly representatives
  • Site Licence Companies (SLCs)
  • Site Stakeholder Groups
  • Trade Unions
  • Local Authorities and Council officials

During the public consultation a select NDA Strategy team visited local stakeholder groups and SLC staff at sites across England, Wales and Scotland. The team engaged in face-to-face discussions about our Draft Strategy.
