Today marks the start of the competitive application process to award £15 million to a range of research and development projects.
The initiative is co-funded by four Government organisations:
- The Technology Strategy Board (backed by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills)
- NDA,
- Engineering and Physical Research Council and
- the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
Funding, aimed at stimulating innovation in the civil nuclear supply chain, will be allocated as follows:
- Up to £12 million for business-led collaborative R&D projects
- Up to £2 million for feasibility studies, which must be collaborative projects led by a Small/Medium Enterprise
- £1 million for Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), which support the transfer of knowledge and skills from academia to industry
