Oldbury is best in the west

Oldbury Power Station's communication team has been awarded top honours by a leading professional organisation.
The team walked away with three prizes at this year's West of England Chartered Institute of Public Relations PRide Awards, held in Bristol.
This included the prestigious gold award in the 'Internal Communications' category for a campaign designed to ensure safety remains the site's top priority.
The campaign, called 'Don't Gamble With Safety' used a fun casino theme to communicate serious safety messages to staff and contractors.
The team successfully fought off competition from Somerset County Council, Gloucester City Council and the University of Plymouth.
In addition, the team took the silver awards in both the Outstanding In-House Public Relations Team category and the Corporate Responsibility category, for a series of environmental awareness initiatives that have implemented, in conjunction with the station's environment team.
Oldbury Communication Officer Zoe Young said:
"This is a fantastic award for Oldbury, as the Communication Team has been recognised by our professional body and our peers as delivering a quality service that reflects best practice within the industry."
"In the coming year we will continue to work hard to enhance the reputation of Oldbury and ensure that we remain at the forefront of innovation within the communication industry."
