Oldbury power station is located in South Gloucestershire and has an area of 51 hectares covered by the nuclear site licence. It started electricity generation in 1967. The area around the site is environmentally sensitive and has been designated as a Special Protection Area (SPA) and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
