Industry wide pension scheme

02 December 2005

The NDA recognises the importance of the industry wide pension scheme to the trade unions and workforce and has held a number of meetings in recent months to engage constructively with union representatives on this issue.

These discussions have helped inform our early considerations ahead of a formal consultation which is due to be launched on 9 December. This will provide trade unions and other stakeholders with a period of three months to provide further detailed input which will help us to ensure we produce an effective and high quality scheme.

The NDA is committed to developing a scheme that meets all the commitments set out in the Energy Act.

We stand ready to discuss the scheme with trade unions and other stakeholders at any time.
