Stakeholders gather for national event

23 January 2012

The NDA has now published the report from the National Event for stakeholders, held in Manchester at the end of last year.

Almost 100 delegates gathered at the event, where a range of decommissioning topics were the focus of discussions.

The event was attended by stakeholders from across the NDA estate, including local community representatives, the Site Licence Companies, regulators, Government officials, trade unions, EDF and other interest groups.

Held over a 24-hour period, it was the first to be organised since the drive to reduce overhead and support costs led to a re-assessment of the national stakeholder group meetings that had been a feature of the NDA calendar since 2005.

The event opened with an introduction by NDA Chairman Stephen Henwood and departing Chief Executive Tony Fountain, who took the opportunity to say farewell, while stressing the importance of the ongoing decommissioning mission and the value of continued engagement with the stakeholder community. Delegates then had an opportunity to question the NDA Executive team about progress over the past year.
