Review of timescales for geological disposal
We have published a preliminary response to the Minister’s request to review the programme for implementing geological disposal of higher activity radioactive waste with a view to bringing the date for first waste emplacement forward from the planned 2040 date to 2029.

NDA Responds to Government’s Consultation Paper

The NDA responds to the consultation paper Managing Radioactive Waste Safely (MRWS): A framework for implementing geological disposal. We see this as an important consultation paper which sets out a framework for the long-term management of higher activity wastes.
Given the important nature of this consultation we have responded to the 12 specific questions and the one general one.
