Head of Programme for Sellafield
10 January 2012
The NDA has today announced that Dr Ian Hudson, its Head of Programme for Sellafield has decided to leave the authority and pursue his career with American corporation URS in the United States. Ian will leave the NDA at the end of the current financial year to take his new job as Vice President for Performance Assurance in the US, moving to Aiken, South Carolina.
Following Ian's departure Mark Steele, currently Deputy Head of Programme at Sellafield for the NDA, will take over the role in an interim capacity.
Commenting on Ian Hudson's departure Mark Lesinski, the NDA's Executive Director for Delivery said:
"Ian has been an important member of the NDA team since joining in 2005 and we wish him every success in his future career.
In particular he picked up the role of leading our Sellafield team and work programme following the competition to secure Nuclear Management Partners as the parent body for Sellafield Ltd. In that role he has led the interaction with the Sellafield Executive team and coordinated the development of the recently published Sellafield Plan."
Prior to his role at Sellafield Ian had a leading role in developing the NDA's Skills and R&D strategies, which have in turn seen the creation of major infrastructure in West Cumbria such as Energus and the Dalton Cumbria Facility.
