NDA Response to HSE Prosecution of British Nuclear Group

The HSE decision to prosecute BNG Sellafield is solely a decision for the regulator. BNG Sellafield as the site licence company for the Thorp plant is directly responsible for all matters relating to health, safety and security on-site and is therefore directly accountable to the regulator. The NDA as owner of the Sellafield site has a separate contractual relationship with BNG and is not party to the legal action.
