The NDA’s Radioactive Waste Management Directorate (RWMD) hosted a workshop aimed at suppliers who are interested in supporting the site investigation and construction phases of the Geological Disposal Facility project.

The workshop provided:
- Background to, and current status of, the geological disposal facility project, including RWMD’s values and proposed approach;
- An initial engagement between NDA/RWMD and potential suppliers for site investigation and construction work. Specifically to:
- explore the issues associated with procurement of site investigation and construction work;
- understand what is and is not possible, including topics on, risk management, links between site investigations and construction, financing / resourcing, skills, competition from other projects; and
- enable the supply chain to shape thinking and influence RWMD’s implementation strategy.
