EnergySolutions EU Ltd to be sold

EnergySolutions Inc, the US business, has advised the NDA of its intention to sell its European business, EnergySolutions EU Ltd.
EnergySolutions EU - a UK limited company – has a contract to be the Parent Body Organisation for the Magnox Site Licence Company until mid 2014. The PBO from that date will be decided by a competition, which is being launched this week.
The NDA has raised no objections in principle to the sale and is proceeding with its competition process as planned. The Contract Notice was issued on Monday 16th July as planned and the Bidders’ Conference is taking place in Manchester on Thursday 19th July.
The NDA has successfully delivered three major competitions and has established a strong track record for running a rigorous competitive process in line with UK and EU requirements. We understand that the market will want to take time to consider this development and the NDA will simultaneously be giving consideration to any implications to the competition schedule looking forward, although we remain committed to maintaining the broad timescale for completion.
