NDA response to proposed sale of BNG

04 November 2005

The NDA consultation on its Draft Strategy closes on November 11th. We expect to receive a response from BNFL which will presumably set out the reasons why it believes a sale should go ahead. We will consider their response along with everyone else's before finalising our proposed Strategy and submitting it to Government by the end of the year.

We are neither for nor against the sale of BNG, but we do need to understand more fully the wide range of issues raised by such a sale.
