How to Access Information

The NDA is committed to being an open and transparent organisation. We aim to make as much information available as possible. Our Publication Scheme provides a guide to the type of information we aim to routinely publish and the Document Library on this website provides immediate access to many of our publications and reports.

If you cannot find the information you require on our website you can make a request to our Information Access Manager at:

Email enquiries@nda.gov.uk

Herdus House
Westlakes Science & Technology Park
Moor Row
Cumbria
CA24 3HU

Enquiry line 01925 80 2077

The Information Access Manager will conduct a search to locate the information you require and send you a response within 20 working days.

To help us process your request as quickly as possible, please write your request clearly, providing a careful description of the information you require. Although it is not a requirement, it will often help us to know your reasons for requesting the information.

If we do not hold the information that you require, we will inform you. In certain circumstances we may need to transfer your request to another organisation which holds the information. If this is necessary we will inform you.

If the information you have requested relates to a third party, the NDA will need to consult with the third party regarding the disclosure of the information.

In some circumstances a fee may be payable and if that is the case, we will let you know the likely charges before proceeding.

Your rights

Members of the public are entitled to request information from the NDA under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR).

Information will only be withheld when necessary and in line with legislation, taking into account public interest and protecting legitimate confidential information, such as personal and commercially sensitive information. If the NDA does decide that information cannot be released, we will explain the reasons behind this decision to you.

The NDA must respond to your request within 20 working days. However, in exceptional circumstances, we may take up to 40 days but we will inform you in advance if this is the case.

The Information Commissioner's Office is responsible for enforcing this legislation. You can find out more about the legislation from the

Information Commissioner's Website
