Closing Date: 17 June 2008
OJEU ref: Not applicable

The Radioactive Waste Management Directorate (RWMD) of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) requires specialist consultancy services in the area of nuclear safety and environmental management systems, as required by nuclear safety and environmental regulators for prospective nuclear Site Licence Companies.

The service shall be for the provision of consultancy services to support the work of RWMD and will be provided by a combination of work at the consultants office and at NDA Harwell. The objective of the work is to support the Safety and Environmental Systems Manager in providing authoritative advice on the requirements for developing a licensable organisation and to assist him in the development of key processes and documentation related to licensing.

Over the period of the contract it is intended that RWMD will effect a staged transition to “shadow SLC” working which will require RWMD’s existing management systems to evolve in line with regulatory expectations and requirements. It is expected that, through this framework contract, consultancy services will be procured in support of this work.
