Competition

Why run competitions for the NDA sites?

Competition is central to our Strategy.

We run competitions as part of our statutory duties to

  • secure value for money;
  • promote competition;
  • promote best practice; and
  • meet our legal duties under the European Procurement Regulations and Energy Act 2004

The competition will drive:

1 Value for Money

By

  • facilitating broad participation;
  • seeking to transfer risk from the public to the private sector as appropriate; and
  • focusing on longer term solutions.

2 Innovation

By

  • promoting fresh approaches to existing challenges;
  • seeking solutions in the supply chain; and
  • focusing on outputs, rather than process.

3 Market Development

By

  • predictable work flow;
  • being open to new ideas and solutions; and
  • developing a competitive market.
