Our People
We employ around 200 people. In addition to expertise from the nuclear industry, these people bring skills from engineering, finance, the civil service and consultancy.
The NDA Board
- sets out the strategic framework and direction within which the NDA operates; and
- is responsible for ensuring high standards of corporate governance are observed.
The day to day management of the NDA is delegated by the Board to the Executive, comprising the Chief Executive Officer and other Directors.
NDA Board Members
The Secretary of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change in consultation with the Scottish Ministers appoints the Chairman of the Board.
The Board consists of six non-executive directors, including the Chairman, and four executive directors including the Chief Executive.
Non-Executives
Tony Cooper and David Illingworth completed their second term of office and are no longer non-executive directors of the NDA.
Executives
The process for selecting a new CEO is progressing well. Tony Fountain left the NDA at the end of December 2011 and David Batters, NDA's Chief Financial Officer assumes the responsibility of Accounting Officer and Acting Chief Executive until the new CEO is in place.
NDA Board Meetings
The NDA Board meets six times per year. There are no meetings in August or December.
