We are currently seeking views on:
Strategic Environmental Assessment Assessment until 11 September 2008;
Proposed Supply Chain Development Strategy until end of September 2008;
Plutonium Options until 8 October 2008; and
Three consultations on Geological Disposal until 30 November 2008, which include strategies for:
- research and development
- stakeholder engagement and communications framework
- framework for sustainability appraisal and environmental assessment
What will be the impact of competition on the terms and conditions of workers?
The vast majority of staff should not be affected by a change in site management contractor. TUPE rules would apply. When a site is competed it is essentially the positions occupied by the top management team that is competed. Negotiations on local pay and conditions will remain, as now, a matter between the workforce and site management, although we hope to encourage an atmosphere in which constructive bargaining takes place.
